Unfortunately I was not able to dedicate the amount of time I would have liked to towards writing posts this week. However, this weekend I will re-launch podcasting.
- After spending two years of testing, Southwest Airlines unveiled plans to begin outfitting its Boeing 737s with Row44 Wi-Fi capability by the second quarter of 2010. Chicago Tribune
- European plane-maker Airbus raised the list prices of commercial jets by an average of 5.8 percent. This raise in price is intended to battle the weakening dollar and rising material costs. The Wall Street Journal
- Continental Airlines said they would add more flights from their Newark (New York City area) hub to London’s Heathrow airport. In addition, all flights on the route will offer flat-beds by June 1. JetCheck – Seattle Post Intelligencer.
- AirTran Airways and Allegiant Air continued their battle over Allegiant’s transition from Orlando-Sanford to Orlando-International airport. Dan Webb at Things in the Sky
- Delta Air Lines announced plans to inject $1 billion into improving the customer experience in the air and ground. These upgrades include retrofitting aircraft with winglets, as well as improvements in seating and adding additional SkyClub locations.
- If you’re a milage junkie on Alaska Airlines, you might like this – the airline added another tier to its MVP frequent flier program. Puget Sound Business Journal
