Good news for all water aficionados in Las Vegas. Water parks in Las Vegas are back after an eight year wait. The Splash Canyon is the new Las Vegas Water Park. Scheduled to open on Memorial Day weekend 2012, its season tickets are already on sale. Tickets are free for children up to 2 years and adults pay $29.99. Season passes retail for $99, $40 off the regular price of $139. The highlights of this Las Vegas Water Park include:
– A large wave pool perfect for body surfing
– A three-slide complex with tube slides
– A 1000-foot long lazy river
– Two seven-story speed slides: one called Strip Racer that has six lanes with a smooth descent and the other, dubbed the Cliff Hanger that has a one-lane steep descent.
The Park is also offers food outlets and carts, cabanas, retail stores, restroom, lockers, showers, restrooms, bathhouses, etc.
Located in Fort Apache Road, Splash Canyon is around 10 miles from of the Strip but is only a 10 to 15-minute ride by car.
For those who prefer to stay on the Strip but love the excitement of a water park we recommend the following Las Vegas swimming pools.
– Mandalay Bay: The Mandalay Bay features not only swimming pools but a beach! Yes you read it right, and it is an 11-acre beach with a wave pool and three swimming pools. There is tons of real beach sand and you can even rent your own cabana and bungalows. It also offers a 400-meter lazy river with Cabanas that are great for kids’ parties.
– Bellagio: Kids younger than 14 years old need to be with a guardian but the pool is heated all year round and does not close during the winter. Parents and kids will enjoy the Italian frescos and Renascence themed swimming pool.
– Tropicana: The swimming pool is located on an exotic tropical set full of palm trees and waterfalls. It closes for the winter but it reopens in March.
– Mirage: Like the Tropicana, The Mirage also offers a tropical landscape setting. The pools are large and are connected by lagoons and waterfalls. Heated all year long, these pools do not close for the winter. You can rent pool rafts and a cabana for your family.
– Excalibur: The Excalibur just recently doubled their swimming pool area and their all-ages pool features a water slide. Your kids will enjoy going for a swim in a medieval castle under the protection of King Arthur.
– Stratosphere: The Stratosphere offers a great combination of a pleasant swimming pool and an amusement park. The swimming pool, called Level 8 Pool, is located on the 8th floor of the hotel while the amusement park is located at the top of the Tower. The 8th floor of the hotel is a large recreational area accommodating not only a swimming pool but also a hot tub, caf?� and bars and spots where you can enjoy fantastic views of the Strip.
